Tasks

In order to achieve these objectives, the work to be carried out foresees the following tasks which are to be performed in this deployment phase:
  • Best practice guidelines & replication tool (WP2): To analyse the technical background deriving from SPES, with a double purpose:

      on the one side to extract the best practice guidelines that will guide the W-SPES replication;

      on the other side to identify the system components that W-SPES will propose to other cities. Since the thorough replication of a service is not feasible due to a number of constraints and to the different platforms and contexts, the partners will identify a number of smaller building blocks: these may include software components, interface specifications, PKI elements, or other tools which can be isolated and replicated in different environments.

  • Services selection & specification (WP3):
      - Implementation of the services at the various sites, which implies the replication/re-use of as many components as possible, and the customisation
      - Test the services
      - Integration the digital signature modules made available by the selected CA and/or by Axetel (EUPKI) into them. This will include the adoption of the interoperable signature verification tool tuned by SPES
      - Customisation and implement the Registration Authority mechanism, to allow the new partners to manage the digital signature certificates.

  • Services customisation and Registration Authority set-up (WP4): for:

      - the selection of the applications to be customised or developed at each site
      - the definition of the functional specifications

  • Services roll-out (WP5):
      - development of the users' communication and training plans
      - distribution to the end-users of the smart cards containing the Digital Signature
      - access to the services and applications by the end-users
      - analysis of the results to validate the model/processes

    The services will be accessed by the trained users on a regular basis from their access points, (in public places, at home, etc.). The users will also be requested to fill in a questionnaire to survey customer satisfaction.
